Rates & Payment

It's important to find the right fit when looking for a therapist. I offer a free, initial 15-minute phone session for you to bring any questions, share what is bringing you to therapy, and get a sense of how I work. At that point we can discuss my fees. I do offer a sliding scale on a limited basis for those in financial need.

I do not accept insurance directly for payment. However if you have a PPO health plan, your provider may reimburse a percentage of what you have already paid. Please contact your health care provider to see if they reimburse for services rendered by an out-of-network provider.   I can provide you with a monthly statement that you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.   All other fee arrangements should be negotiated with me.

Cancellation Policy

I usually recommend weekly or bi-weekly sessions in order to maximize the effectiveness of treatment. As we work through some of the core issues,  visits every other week may be indicated. Consistency is critical to the progress of therapy. A scheduled appointment means that the time is reserved for you. Therefore cancellations should be scheduled in advance, when possible.

If you provide less than 48 hours notice when canceling, I will have to charge for the missed appointment. For visits cancelled with more than 48 hours notice, we will try and reschedule for a mutually convenient time. Please contact me anytime if you have questions or concerns regarding my policies.

 Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
